In a change to their usual job of transporting scrap metal in Manchester, on the 2nd and 3rd May our drivers Wayne, Lee, Neil, Chris and John and their families took our fleet of trucks to Truckfest Peterborough. Truckfest is an annual pilgrimage where truck drivers and enthusiasts from around the country can meet up, relax and bond with each over a beer and a burger or two.
It’s also a chance for us to show off our fantastic fleet of trucks and even try pick up some awards along the way. Hundreds of trucks turned up buffed, polished and gleaming for the chance to win recognition. We took great pride in displaying our Die Hard, James Bond and Terminator trucks.
The Terminator achieved a Highly Commended award after being entered into the ‘Custom Non-Working Truck’ category, while the Die Hard and James Bond were entered in the ‘Custom Working Truck’ category, in competitions to decide on the best truck modified from their original specification.
Our Scania 143 93 plate classic entered the ‘Non-Working Show Truck’ category while our Honda pick up and Car Transporter entered into the ‘Best Light Commercial’ category, weighing less than 3.5 tonnes.
Wayne said “It really is a great social activity, meeting up with all the other drivers who we only see once a year. The drivers and our families look forward to sharing a beer or two with them and the odd sausage from the BBQ.”
Truckfest was a massive success and the perfect opportunity to bond with other people who are just as passionate about trucks as we are. Truckfest 2016 is sure to be just as eventful and we plan on making even more of an impression than we did this year.
