After 40 years, Altrincham’s very own scrap metal dealer is on the move.
This week staff and customers of J Davidson are adjusting to a new, state of the art, purpose built site on Craven Road, Altrincham.
Gone are the portacabin offices, under arches storage points and a congested scrap yard, Instead you’ll find a 2 acre site that is clean and spacious, with purpose built offices, ample car parking space, weigh bridges, new de-pollution centre and non ferrous processing plant.
The new site, built on derelict land, has been developed to encompass the latest equipment and technology in the field of scrap metal, as well as purpose built offices and garage space for their 20 strong fleet.
On site, their new Authorised Treatment Facility is fully equipped with industry recognised equipment, allowing for the safe de-pollution of end of life vehicles in line with the European Commission Directive.
The new site also boasts the very latest Le Fort 1,000 tonne shear which was constructed on site at the end of July; a new O&K machine fitted with hydraulic shear attachment and a new JCB Load Hall.
“The move has come about through natural growth” commented Managing Director Jamie Davidson, “after 40 years in operation; we have simply out-grown our old site on Viaduct rd. The new site provides a clean, modern environment for our workforce as well as offering our customers ample parking and an easy process for dropping off their unwanted metal.”
J Davidson has invested £2.5 Million in the new site which has also seen the creation of 15 additional jobs for the area.
The staff at J Davidson would like to offer their thanks to all customers who have supported them over the years and look forward welcoming customers both old and new to their new site.
