As lockdown conditions start to ease over the second half of 2020, we know there will be a lot of extra scrap metal in Manchester and across the north-west, especially as local businesses in Altrincham and beyond start to get back to work.
Many households have been affected by reduced recycling bin collections and a shift towards eating more non-perishable canned foods, while business waste removals may also have been hit by schedule changes and interruptions due to staff shortages.
At a time when your bins might have been emptied less often, the sudden and significant changes made in homes and businesses may also have led you to generate much more metal waste than you normally would.
If you’ve been left with more waste metal than usual, especially if you have a large quantity of scrap metal to dispose of all at once, don’t miss your opportunity to make some extra money at a time when we could all benefit from having a little more in the bank.
What is my scrap metal worth?
We always aim to pay the best scrap metal prices in Manchester, and we buy all kinds of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal for recycling.
That includes ferric/magnetic iron and steel scrap, as well as non-magnetic metals like aluminium (including foil and cans), copper, nickel, lead, zinc, titanium, chromium and cobalt.
If you have precious metals to sell or recycle, we can buy those too – just get in touch to let us know what you have, and we can offer you a price for it, collection or delivery.
Our scrap metal prices depend on the type and quantity of metal you need to recycle, so please contact us directly for a quote so we can offer you our very best prices on the day.
You can bring scrap metal to our recycling facility at 35 Craven Road in Broadheath, Altrincham (our postcode is WA14 5HD if you need it for your satnav).
Alternatively we can arrange a scrap metal collection from your premises. Just give us a call on 0161 928 9981 and we can discuss any special arrangements around social distancing or reduced opening hours.
Is J Davidson Scrap open for business?
Yes, we are. Household and business waste disposal is an important service and we want to make sure all our customers can access that service when you need to.
In order to keep everybody as safe as possible, we have been operating with minimal staff on-site and reduced opening hours, but in the coming months we will keep an open mind as the economy open back up and more local businesses go fully back to work.
We ask that all visitors to our recycling facility observe social distancing regulations, including staying two metres apart – that’s just over 6′ 6″.
If you’d like to check before you visit in person, or you have any other enquiries about scrap metal recycling and social distancing, please call us on 0161 928 9981 and we will be happy to help.
